Let the 48-hour count down begin!
On February 26, 2018, we designed a collaborative, 6-hour "lab" workshop wherein we devised a 10-minute play to be performed two days later as part of LAB/SHUL's Post-Patriarchy Purim event at the House of Yes. Each participant was invited to respond to a series of prompts prior to the event: "What does your personal liberation look like?", "What is your liberation anthem?", "What is something that society does not know about you from the outside?"
The process included a series of movement exercises, each woman performing her own short piece for the group, a beautiful dinner wherein we discussed the story of Purim in the context of our own attitudes and experiences of patriarchy, and a renegade process of weaving our truth together in one hell of a powerful performance.
